Vid of the Day – Squat!

Squatting is fantastic, and so far as I am (and you should be) concerned it is one of the keys to strength. And these videos are a big part of what you need to do it right.

Here is the first one. Check “more from this user” on the side of the page to find the rest, and then squat. To paraphrase something Yuri Vlasov, the first man to snatch over 200kg’s(!) once said… Squat. Squat till there is dark red twilight in your head and the roaring of blood in your ears.

Stay strong. Be resourceful.

Sample Basic Strength Routines

There’s some great stuff in there if you’re starting out or need some new ideas.
The Mike Mahler stuff is particularly well written and easy to follow.

Thanks to SuperMick for that one!

Vid of the Day – Band Sprint Training with Ross

Once again Ross Enamait brings the effective low-tech training. You can practice this just about anywhere, and it means you can do your sprints indoors if you can’t get to a park or it’s raining. You can even take your bands on holiday with you in your suitcase!

If you’ve gone to the sports store to look for bands, I recommend getting the heaviest duty bands and growing into them. Even if you can’t sprint as far as Ross does in the video, you’ll still be able to get part of the way. You’ll grow into them and you won’t have to buy new ones later.

No excuses!
Joe
